I dont really understand what was wrong about the scenes about Manoj Kumar in Farha’s flick Om Shanti Om.Bharat Kumar as he has all through been known should not garner all the patriotism to his coffers...he has had his self acquired share of recognition and now he should respect the ’way’ people in India would remember him. It is rather a matter of pride that having spent your day, you are still counted in Current History.Well done Apichaya for the story

When success goes to your head you often tend to lose your head. That’s what happen ed to Farahji. She seems to have lost her sense of propriety. If Manoj Kumar has objected to the scenes mentioned and he has agreed to Yash Chopra’s mediation, it should be respected. A senior artist deserves that especially from co artistes.
Farahji is not going to remain forever young. If she showed proper respect for Manoj Kumars feelings, it would only add to her stature.
Ridiculing your seniors only reveals the underneath latent shallowness in you.

Take it easy, dear. It would be a rash generalisation mixed with unease, associating a wisecrack with a statement like ’insulting your seniors’. You witness hell no. of shows nowadays on entertainment and news channels with the likes of Raju Srivastava and VIP mimicking senior actors without any objection raised by anyone of them.

There is a couplet in Urdu which I will duly translate for readers who do not understand Urdu:
Kitni aasani se mash-hoor kiya hai khud ko,
Maine apne se bade shaks ko gali di.
(How easily have I made myself popular, I simply abused someone who was really great(er than me).
But it may not be true always. In lampooning Manoj Kumar’s style, Farha remembered him and reminded him to the cinelovers in India. There was nothing wrong in that. But why humiliate your predicessors if not seniors by directly locking horns. Give them their due respect and recognition.

@agree with u Sharmila, Manoj Kumar completely lacks any sense of humour.

Really, Manoj Kumar has no sense of humour at all. He should learn to laugh along. He is long forgotten, but Farah did revive him, didnt she. What would Manoj Kumar have done if he would have been in Amitabh, Sharukh or Aamir’s shoes?

I wonder how well you know him since you are judging his sense of humor.

It’s sad that our oldies can not even take the ”decent humors”. They gotcha learn from SRK, Saif, Akki, or Salman. Or even Priety, Rani, or Priyanka.

A new generation is much more ’sporty’.

All I would say is that a giant like Manoj Kumar could have pretty much ignored what Farah Khan did. Human ego can be quite tricky sometimes, but then again it is human.

I’m not sure if Farah Khan could even spell the word Direction when Manoj Kumar had already been a superstar. And to people bantering about the new generation, it almost made me laugh that the new generation is ”sportier”. There’s nothing sporty in this. Mimicking someone is different and humiliating someone is different (which again depends on perspective).

However, if you think this is sporty, then I pity such viewpoint.
Peace.
